The Bible is Alive | It Is Written Part 1

2020 seemed to unlock some sort of craziness in our world. While the calendar may have changed, the fallout of 2020 in not in the rearview mirror yet.

With the Coronavirus pandemic to economic collapse and stolen elections, we are still neck deep in the fallout of the year from the Twilight Zone. New wars have begun, new elections are upon us, and the world still looks dark.

The timing is always perfect to dive into the Word of God – the Bible – and look at it from a few different perspectives, but I'm excited to take the time to do it in detail through the next few posts.

I promise you that if you will stick with us through these, you will have a major understanding of the Bible and how to study it, apply it, and use it to find the answers that can give you hope and peace of mind.

Like the old gospel song says, “I know not what the future holds, but I know who holds the future.”

I’ve seen chaotic times in my life but never to the degree that we are in right now. Everybody has questions but few people seem to offer real answers. And a big part of the problem is that you can’t believe anything the news media is telling us.

But the Bible does have the answers. The Bible is true and relevant and reliable.
Yes, the Bible is an accurate historical record. But that’s not all it is. The Bible is a wonderful spiritual guide. But that’s not all it is. The Bible is a tremendous moral compass, but it is far more than that.

You see, the Bible is not simply a great reference book, to be studied for its contents. It is alive and it is to be embraced for its power.

Hebrews 4:12 tells us, “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

The Words that Christ spoke give life to every situation. In fact, the Bible says that unless you are born of the Spirit, you cannot even understand the Bible because these things are spiritually discerned.

John 8:31-32, “Jesus therefore was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

This word abide is a very intimate term. To abide in the Word of God is to make your home there.  When we read the Bible, we don’t do it just for the information we get out of it, but for the time spent with the Lord. When you read the Bible with an open mind, you will see it come alive within your spirit.
